    Sexton takes 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship MVP honours, tops All-Star Five

    ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - Collin Sexton of the United States was named as the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship while topping the All-Star Five, presented by Tissot. 

    Sexton led the United States in scoring with 17.0 points per game while also averaging 4.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals. He collected 16 points, 8 assists and 2 steals in the USA's 96-56 victory over Turkey in the Final. 

    Joining Sexton in the All-Star Five are his USA teammate Wendell Carter Jr., Arnas Velicka from third-placed finishers Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina guard Dzanan Musa and Spain forward Sergi Martinez

    Carter averaged 10.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 block for the tournament while Velicka picked up 12.1 points, 4.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.7 steals. Musa was tops in the tournament in scoring with 34.0 points to go with 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals, and Martinez averaged 19.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals for the host team.
