    China win two of three warm-up games against Slovenia U18 team

    KRANJSKA GORA (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - China finished off their preparations for 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship by winning two of three warm-up games against Slovenia’s U18 team.

    Wang Jian Jun’s team knocked off the Slovenians in the first two games in Kranjska Gora before dropping the final game. The games were preparation for the U17 Worlds, where China will take on Australia, Canada and Finland in Group C in Zaragoza.

    China started the Slovenia series on fire, hitting 62 percent from the field in a 95-69 victory. Point guard Xu Jie led the Asian powers with 15 points while Zhu Rongzhen picked up a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. 

    Bai Haotian added 11 points and Liu Zeyl collected 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists. 

    Wang Yibo played well for China in their final U17 Worlds preparations.

    In the second game, China scored the final 13 points in the last five minutes to pull away for a 72-55 victory. Wang Yibo led the Chinese with 17 points while Li Xiangbo had 15 points and six rebounds and Chen Peidong picked up 13 points and four steals. 

    China coach Wang Jian Jun rested Bai and Zhu played just 15 minutes with five points, six rebounds and two blocks. 

    China dropped the third game 74-71 despite 17 points from Wang Yibo, who nailed four three-pointers. Liu picked up 12 points while Li had seven points and 10 rebounds. Bai scored just six points but chipped in five assists and two steals in the loss.
