Tahiti Head Coach, Georgy Adams answered the following questions ahead of the competition.
Team Preparations
We have been preparing since the 2022 FIBA Polynesian Cup with two training sessions per week, amping up to four per week in the last month leading into the Pacific Games. The biggest challenge has been juggling player working and schooling commitments.
What can we expect from Team Tahiti?
We have a pretty good team with some experienced players as well as some youthful emerging athletes in the mix. We are aiming to finish on the podium at the 2023 Pacific Games.
I would like all the players to give their maximum best and for our team to never give up so we can make finals and compete well.
What will be the biggest opportunity be for Team Tahiti at the 2023 Pacific Games?
For us, it will be a good experience for our youngest girls and how I know some players like Maea, Océane, and Alizée, they will fight every second on the court and give the energy for the new generation.
The Pacific Games will be hosted by Solomon Islands from November 19 – December 2, 2023. The Pacific Games Women’s Basketball Tournament is the official qualifiers of the Oceania region to the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup Division B.
