Six European teams confirmed for the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia) - Germany and  Serbia both took wins on the penultimate day of FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 to finalize the European lineup for the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.

With four spots for the Road To Paris 2024 having already been confirmed in the wake of Thursday's Quarter-Finals when Spain, France, Belgium and Hungary were all victorious in the Slovenian capital, there were just two places still to be determined in the Classification Games for the OQTs.

Germany were first to punch their ticket after an extraordinary 71-69 overtime success against Czech Republic. A Leonie Fiebich jump shot with just 0.4 seconds remaining forced the extra period and they took advantage. Fiebich recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Marie Guelich starred with a monster double-double of 15 points and 16 boards,

Serbia then outlasted Balkan rivals Montenegro 63-58 in a hard fought contest, thanks to a standout performance by playmaker Yvonne Anderson who had 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Natasha Mack had an eye-catching 20 points and 13 boards in defeat.
