Seedings for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 draw set, partner federations confirmed
MUNICH (Germany) - The seedings and partner federations of the hosts have now been confirmed ahead of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 draw, which will take place near the Slovenian capital Ljubljana at the beautiful surroundings of the Brdo estate on March 8.
The 16 participating nations have been seeded according to the FIBA World Ranking Women, presented by Nike, which has been updated to include the results of the Qualifiers.
The seedings are as follows:
Pot 1: Spain; France; Belgium; Serbia
Pot 2: Turkey; Italy; Greece; Slovenia
Pot 3: Great Britain; Montenegro; Slovakia; Czech Republic
Pot 4: Hungary; Latvia; Germany; Israel
FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 hosts Israel and Slovenia had the right to select a partner federation, which will compete in the respective country.
Slovenia partnered with Serbia to also play in Ljubljana, but they will be drawn in different groups. Meanwhile, Israel found an agreement with Czech Republic and they will be paired in the same group.
Wednesday's ceremony will start at 17:00 CET and will see the teams qualified for the flagship event drawn into four groups of four teams each.
The draw will be livestreamed on the FIBA YouTube channel and covered across the competition's dedicated social media accounts.
FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 will commence on June 15 with the Group Phase and Qualification for the Quarter-Finals being held in Tel Aviv and Ljubljana. The Final Phase action continues in Ljubljana with the Final taking place on June 25.
