How to qualify

The 36 nations taking part in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 Qualifiers were drawn into 10 groups, with each team playing the others in its group in home and away games, following a round-robin system over three windows in November 2021, November 2022 and February 2023.

The hosts of the next edition of women's flagship event in Europe - Israel and Slovenia - are qualified for the Final Round directly, with 14 tickets reserved for the 10 group winners and the four best second-placed teams. In order for the second-placed teams across all 10 groups to be ranked on a like-for-like basis, their results against the fourth-placed teams in the groups of four will not be taken into consideration.

As approved by the FIBA Europe Board, only the group winners from Group F and Group I will qualify for the Final Round with runners-up of these groups not in contention to qualify as the best second-placed teams as a consequence of the decision to withdraw Belarus and Russia from the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 Qualifiers.

In case one or both of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 hosts finish among the 14 spots that qualify for the event, then the next best second-placed team(s) will also qualify.

FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 will take place from June 15-25, 2023.
