MEDIA ACCREDITATION

All media representatives, local and international, wishing to attend the event can apply through the FIBA Media Portal. No other form of application will be accepted.

The deadline for submitting applications is Monday 31 January at 23:59 CET.

COVID-19 MEASURES

Please, note that all accredited media are expected to fully respect and comply with COVID-19 related guidelines which, among others, may restrict access to certain areas inside the venue. In some cases, if required by local authorities, the number of media accredited may have to be reduced even after approval, at the discretion of the host.

More detailed guidelines will be forwarded to accredited media following their accreditation approval.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • Successful applicants will be notified by FIBA; completing the application form does not automatically guarantee accreditation.
  • A proper and valid, electronic version of a portrait photo (headshot) of the applicant must be uploaded during the procedure. Applications that do not include a proper and valid photo may not be considered.
  • In order to be considered for media credentials, an applicant must represent a bona fide media organization that produces and publishes original content.
  • Applications for media credentials by club representatives, agents, educational booklet authors, fan bloggers, or media that do not produce original content based on generally accepted news gathering criteria will not be considered.
  • Freelancers (writers, photographers and videographers) may be asked to prove that they are on assignment with a media outlet in order to be considered for credentials.
  • Credentials will be awarded on the basis of the professional history of the applying media, relevance to the event and basketball in general, as well as space availability in the different venues.

HOW TO APPLY FOR ACCREDITATION

  1. Log-in to the FIBA Media Portal or, if you are a new user, create a new profile;
  2. Select the Qualifying Tournament you wish to attend under the "My Events" section (to be found at the top of profile page);
  3. Complete all registration fields as necessary;
  4. IMPORTANT : you will be able to request a “remote coverage accreditation”. This accreditation type will allow you to follow the event remotely and have the opportunity to ask questions to players and coaches virtually during media availability (after the game and during post-game press conferences on Zoom). You will also receive additional content to support your coverage of the event from afar.
  5. Make sure that all tabs are filled out correctly and the information is saved. Following registration, you should receive an accreditation submission confirmation email.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

FIBA and the Local Organizing Committee will make every effort to welcome all successfully accredited media at the event and do their best to guarantee them a good level of access and coverage.

However, as the COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting the situation worldwide, limiting activities in indoor venues, FIBA reserves the right to recall accreditation approvals at any time and/or limit the number of media that will be allowed to attend the event, if such advice is given by its Medical Commission and based on the epidemiological situation in the host countries.
