BRUSSELS (FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - Emma Meesseman and Ann Wauters are ready to spearhead newcomers Belgium on their maiden trip to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup.

Having taken a historic first ever podium finish at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket last year when they finished in Third Place, play-caller Philip Mestdagh will be relying on his twin towers to shoot Belgium to new heights once again.

Belgium roster for FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018
Julie Allemand Marjorie Carpreaux Antonia Delaere Kyara Linskens
Emma Meesseman Hanne Mestdagh Kim Mestdagh Hatty Nahwezhi-Bende
Heleen Nauwelaers Jana Raman Julie Vanloo Ann Wauters

Meesseman is the reigning EuroLeague Women MVP and having also made the All-Star Five in Prague last year wearing Belgium colors, she will be required to post another towering performance.

The same can be said of Wauters, the legendary veteran who provides the glue, quality and experience needed for a deep run in the competition.  Belgium also boast sharp-shooter Kim Mestdagh and an exciting array of guards, including the likes of Marjorie Carpreaux, Julie Vanloo and rising star Julie Allemand.

Belgium will face Japan, Puerto Rico and host nation Spain in the opening phase.
