Legendary Sun Min to coach Korea as roster confirmed for FIBA Women's Asia Cup

SEOUL (Korea) - Korea has chosen to install the legendary Jung Sun-Min into the coaching hot-seat to oversee their FIBA Women's Asia Cup campaign in Amman this month.

An iconic figure in her homeland having played in the WNBA and widely recognized as the best to have ever worn a national team vest, it looks like it could be  tough initiation in the Jordanian capital for the playcaller who succeeds Jooweon Chun in the role.

That's because it was confirmed the team's centerpiece and leader Ji Su Park will not be available due to her commitments Stateside with the Las Vegas Aces.

However, the brighter news for Sun-Min is that 10 of the 12 players who took part at the recent Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be stepping out. 

This includes Leeseul Kang who led the way in scoring at the Games for her country, the influential Hyejin Park who handed out almost 4 assists per game and Danbi Kim, who amassed a double digit scoring return on Japanese soil.

Korea are set to face New Zealand, India and Japan in the Group phase.
