FIBA statement about the FIBA Women's AmeriCup game Argentina vs Venezuela
SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) - Following the COVID-19 Protocol for FIBA Official National Team and Club Competitions, FIBA has decided to postpone the game Argentina vs Venezuela of the FIBA Women's AmeriCup.
SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) - Following the COVID-19 Protocol for FIBA Official National Team and Club Competitions, FIBA has decided to postpone the game Argentina vs Venezuela of the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2021 due to take place today in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The decision was taken due to inconclusive COVID-19 testing results of the Argentine delegation, with the health and safety of players, coaches and officials being the primary consideration. The rest of the delegation has been placed in isolation.
Additional testing on the Argentine Team Delegation will be performed for further medical evaluation and decisions, including a possible rescheduling of the game in the next days.
FIBA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and communicate any further updates regarding its competitions if necessary.
