The FIBA Women’s AfroBasket is the top women’s basketball tournament in Africa which is staged every two years and features the top 12 national teams on the continent. The 26th edition of event will take place from September 17, 2021 to September 26, 2021. The inaugural FIBA Women’s AfroBasket was held in Guinea in 1966 and Egypt finished top of the podium after beating the host nation in the Final. While Senegal have captured the crowns in 12 of the 26 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket. They are followed by Nigeria with 4 titles as they clinched the last one during the 26th edition of 2019. Zaire (DR Congo) secured 3 titles while Angola and Egypt were crowned twice.
