BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The inaugural season of WASL continues and all of the teams are putting in their best efforts to finish as the best of the best in their respective leagues.

There's been plenty of excitement. There's been plenty of emotions. Big players. Great players. Great games all around. We will continue to stack them up against each other in these WASL Power Rankings.

Reminder: These are not the official rankings. Power Rankings are just here to reflect on a team's current form and not based entirely on their records in WASL.

    Team

    Movement

    16  Al-Ittihad Ahli

Another week, another loss for Al-Ittihad Ahli. We love how passionate the fans are for their teams in Syria and we really hope they get to celebrate a WASL win soon, but the time was not this week.  -

    15 Alkaramah

    See Above. -

    14  Al Bashaer

No WASL action for Al Bashaer this week means that they stay in place... for now. -

    13  Al Nasr Riyadh

Kuwait Club are really good and Al Nasr were without Musab Kadi, but this loss seems like a downwards trend for the Saudi Arabian club. The Group Phase is still only halfway through, so there's still time for this winless squad to make a comeback, but they'll need to be at the top of their game from here on out. 🔻1️⃣

    12  Orthodox Amman

We've moved Orthodox Amman up one spot and we're going to say that they seem to be playing better than how they played in the previous weeks... but it still feels like they are not yet at their full potential. That could spell trouble for the other teams in Group A of WASL - West Asia... but only if Orthodox Amman can figure out their current issues. 🔺1️⃣

    11  Al Sadd

Al Sadd were thisclose to coming away with the win against Al Manama, so it's not that bad of a loss. Al Sadd have two losses, both coming in overtime games. They are a tough team to defeat, but now that there's only 3 games left in the Group Phase, they'll need to finish games stronger than they have so far. -

    10  Kazma

It's not Kazma's fault they moved down a spot in the Power Rankings as they didn't play a WASL game this week. They can quickly shoot back up with a strong performance against Al Hilal next Monday. 🔻1️⃣

    9  Al Naft

Al Naft did not play in WASL this week, but that big loss to Gorgan still stings. They'll be able to get back on their feet next Thursday against a winless Alkaramah. But if they lose that game... 🔻1️⃣

    8  Al Manama

Al Manama finish the first half of the WASL - Gulf Group Phase with a solid win against Al Sadd. They continue to look better and better as each week passes in the competition, especially Mustafa Rashed who has stepped up to be one of the best players on the team. 🔺2️⃣

    7  Al Hilal

No WASL games this week means it is not Al Hilal's fault they slide down two spots. They will be going up against an in-form Kazma team on Monday, however, and they can use that opportunity to move up again with a win. 🔻2️⃣

    6  ZobAhan

ZobAhan have come a long way from all the way down at 14 in the first edition of these Power Rankings. Again, this was expected considering the general quality of Iranian basketball, but it's still nice to see that they weren't too rattled with the opening loss. Earlier in the week, they did lose in the local league but to a strong team in Kalleh so it's not the end of the world.  🔺1️⃣

    5  Al Riyadi

Going down one spot in the Power Rankings in a week where they didn't play is probably the last thing on Al Riyadi's mind at the moment. Next Wednesday, they'll be facing Gorgan in a rematch of what might have been the best WASL - West Asia game so far. The situation is that Gorgan have gotten better and better each week in WASL while Riyadi have had to deal with changes and injuries. Big test for this big team ahead. 🔻1️⃣

    4  Gorgan

    See above.
Al Riyadi vs Gorgan: Part 2 should be an epic game so Gorgan won't be bothered by slipping down two spots in a week where they didn't play in WASL. They did win big in the local league this week, but like in WASL, they have a big game coming up (against Kalleh) so they are ready to quickly move past that.
    🔻2️⃣

3  Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai

Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai got an important 94-91 win over Sharjah in the local league, but they didn't play in WASL this week
    AND...
    🔻2️⃣

    2   Kuwait Club

Kuwait Club scored what could be the most resounding win so far in Group A of WASL - Gulf with a 23-point beat down vs Al Nasr. All other games in the group so far have been decided by no more than 6 points and by an average of only 3.6 points per contest. The most recent win of this undefeated club was convincing enough to part themselves from the pack all the way up to this spot in the Rankings. 🔺4️⃣

    1  Beirut Club

Talking about convincing wins... Beirut Club have no tapped the breaks here in WASL - West Asia, once again collecting another comfortable win heading into the midway point of the Group Phase. They've won all of their games by at least double-digit margins and an average of 22.3 points per contest. It might be tough to knock Beirut Club down from this spot at this point. 🔺2️⃣
