Kuwait Club rout Al Manama to stay undefeated, clinch top seed

KUWAIT CITY (Kuwait) - Kuwait Club remain the only perfect team in the West Asia Super League (WASL) following a dominant 106-78 romp of Al Manama, Monday night at the Shaikh Saad Alabdullah Sport Hall Complex in Kuwait City.

The home team wasted no time showing the visitors who's boss, zooming to a big lead to start the match never to look back on the way to clinching win no. 5 and, more importantly, clinching the top seed of Group B in the WASL-Gulf.

The scoring total of Kuwait Club also matched their previous high of 106 points against Al Nasr Riyadh, which still stands as a WASL Gulf-high.

Game heroes: Six players scored in twin digits in the victory that snapped their Bahraini counterparts' two-game win streak, with Jacob Pullen captaining the well-deployed attack with 24 points on 50-percent field goal shooting.

Marcus Georges-Hunt produced 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists with a pair of steals. Cody Lalanne supplied 15 points and 12 rebounds for another double-double.

Mohammad Hasan made 13 points while Turki Alshemmari and Omran Jawhar added 11 markers apiece for Kuwait Club, who spoiled the debut of new guy Steve Taylor Jr. for Al Manama following the lopsided victory.

STEP AHEAD Player of the Game: Georges-Hunt was named STEP AHEAD Player of the Game as he garnered 39-percent of the fan votes.

Turning point: With Georges-Hunt and Lalanne leading the way, Kuwait Club began the night with a 22-9 lead, and would never lift their foot on the gas pedal.

The gap got stretched to as far as 35 points, 95-60, following Pullen's triple off a Georges-Hunt dime approaching the midway mark of the final period.

Stats don't lie: Kuwait Club shot 54-percent from the floor big thanks to their 20 assists, and dominated the boards, 46-29.
