Canada select 12-player roster for U16 Americas Championship
TORONTO (Canada) – Canada Basketball announced today the 12 players that will represent Canada at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2019 in Belem, Brazil, from June 3-9.

“We’re excited to move forward with a really outstanding group of high characters kids that I think are going to represent Canada very well,” said Head Coach Kirby Schepp, in the Canada Basketball Press Release.
Canada was selected to Group B of the continental championship along with Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay. Group A features the teams from Mexico, Argentina, USA and the Dominican Republic.
The Canadians will start the competition against Uruguay. Canada will them face Brazil and Puerto Rico to close-out the Group Phase.
All the teams will advance to the Quarter-Finals on June 7. The Semi-Finals will be played on June 8 and the Final will be played on June 9.
The top four teams from the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2019 will qualify to the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2020.
