Thrilling showdowns revealed: FIBA releases Olympic Qualifying Tournaments schedules

MIES (Switzerland) - Game schedules for July's FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 in Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico and Spain have been announced with plenty of mouthwatering clashes now set.

Among them is the opening contest at the tournament in Valencia, Spain, between Finland, who qualified last summer at the FIBA Basketball's World Cup 2023 and a Bahamas team that won the Olympic Pre-Qualifiying Tournament Argentina . The July 2 game tips off at 5:30pm local time.

On July 3, the Peace and Friendship Arena in Piraeus will be packed at 9:00pm local time for the battle between Greece and the Dominican Republic, national teams that played at last year's FIBA Basketball World Cup in Manila. 

Tipping off two hours before at the Arena Riga will be a showdown between one of the best supported national teams in international basketball, the Philippines, and hosts Latvia, who enjoyed a stunning run to the Quarter-Finals in their first World Cup last year.

Puerto Rico and Italy look to be on a collision course for Group B supremacy in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in San Juan. Their crucial meeting is set for an 8:30pm tip-off on July 4 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The Azzurri won the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia to reach the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Puerto Rico's last appearance at the Summer Games was 2004 in Athens.

The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 will conclude on July 7, when the winner-take-all Finals will be played.
