Croatia v Italy

Croatia and Italy will trade blows for the second time this week at the PalaOlimpico but this time with a spot in the Rio de Janeiro Games at stake. Italy scraped a 67-60 win on Tuesday over Croatia, getting their noses in front midway through the third quarter. Daniel Hackett provided plenty of inspiration and Marco Belinelli had a team-high 19 points as the Azzurri overcame a tough one-two punch of Bojan Bogdanovic (26 points) and Dario Saric (11 points and 10 rebounds). Croatia have since recovered, beating Tunisia in Group B and then Group A winners Greece in the Semi-Finals. Italy downed Mexico in the Last Four to seal a place in the title game with Danilo Gallinari showing signs that he is getting on track with a team-high 15 points in 21 minutes. Croatia clinched their spot in the 2008 Beijing Games at the OQT in Greece while Italy last played at an Olympics in 2004 when they reached the Final.
