USA v Senegal
In a game pitting the World and Olympic champions USA against the African champions Senegal, the former are heavy favourites not only because of their status as top team in the FIBA World Ranking Women but fundamentally because they are better equipped.

Serbia v Spain
The European champions Serbia have reason to describe this game as a challenging opener. Spain enjoy a 2-0 head-to-head advantage against them dating back to the EuroBasket Women 2013. Even when Serbia claimed their first-ever European title last summer, they were unable to avoid a Group Phase 91-80 defeat against the Spaniards.

Australia v Turkey
By beating hosts Brazil in their Group A opener on Saturday, Australia made a statement of their Rio Olympics aspirations. They take on Turkey looking to stay undefeated while the Turks, who had a poor performance against France on Saturday, will try to bounce back.

France v Belarus
Silver medalists at the London Olympics four years ago, the Les Bleues enter the contest with the advantage of being quicker. The last time the two sides met at EuroBasket Women last summer, France's Isabelle Yacoubou was dominant, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
