Turkey v France
Although the French beat Turkey twice in the build-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, circumstances have changed. While France's superstar Celine Dumerc has been ruled out of the competition through a left ankle injury, Turkey's Nevriye Yilmaz, who missed out the two warm-up games against the Le Bleus is back in action.

China v Canada
The Canadians couldn't be more confident heading into their Group B opener against China, a team they swept in a three-game warm-up series last month. But the East Asians have already made it clear that they are in Rio to compete and win games.

Brazil v Australia
Medal contenders Australia will be put to the test against the host nation, who chase their first podium finish since the Sydney Olympics. At first glance, the Opals - the number two team in the world - emerge as favourites, but they will face two opponents: Erika De Souza and Co and a rowdy home crowd.

Belarus v Japan
The last time Belarus faced Asian teams, at the 2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in June, things didn't work quite well as a fast-paced China and Korea forced the Europeans to work extra hard. Eventually, they finished with a 1-2 record.
