MADRID (Spain) - Spain will step out at the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament with added confidence after winger Alba Torrens was confirmed in their final roster for the event.
Torrens suffered the misfortune of being ruled out of the recent FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 in her home country last month because of a positive Coronavirus test and so is likely to be hungrier than ever to return to major tournament action.
The winger was instrumental five years ago at Rio 2016 in helping Spain make history as they made their first ever Final.

Maria Conde | Silvia Dominguez | Laura Gil | Astou Ndour |
Laia Palau | Cristina Ouvina | Leo Rodriguez | Alba Torrens |
Head coach Lucas Mondelo has retained the bulk of the squad from their mission in Valencia which could only harvest a seventh placed finish. As well as Torrens, there is also a return for forward Tamara Abalde who also had to sit out the FIBA Women's EuroBasket for the same reason.
Spain will have plenty of experience with the likes of Laia Palau and Silvia Dominguez in the backcourt, plus the in-form Maite Cazorla who has impressed in recent days during the preparation games. There is also a lot of excitement around the frontcourt combination of star center Astou Ndour and the burgeoning young gun, Raquel Carerra.
