TOKYO (Japan) - Japan has revealed the 12 players who will represent them at the Olympic Games in Tokyo as they get ready to excite the home fans at the Saitama Super Arena.

The team is likely to be led by the free-scoring Saki Hayashi who lit it up at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ostend last year with her shooting prowess. The same can be said for felllow guard Nako Motohashi, who handed out more than 5 assists per game at the event.

Meanwhile there will be a big responsibility on the frontcourt trio pof Moeko Nagoka, Maki Takada and Himawari Akaho to step up under the basket.

Not least because Japan will have to cope without marquee star Ramu Tokashiki as they look to improve on their 8th place finish in Rio four years ago. The former WNBA forward has not recovered from surgery in time to make the list and this represents a significant blow for the hosts.
