After going unbeaten at last year's FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade and making everyone sit up and take notice of their potential after beating European powerhouse Spain, they will certainly have continuity when they step out in the Japanese capital.
No fewer than 11 players who helped to book their ticket will be back to potentially push for the podium, with a number of standout names ready to lead China on a deep run in the tournament.
Meng Li was named MVP at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament and she is joined by fellow All-Star Five member in the shape of the towering WNBA center, Xu Han.
