- France defeated Czech Republic 97-77 to go to 2-0, win the group, advance to the Quarter-Finals as a seeded team in the draw
- Australia also got to 2-0 by beating Italy 86-83, and cannot finish lower than third spot in their group; in fact, since the third-placed team in Group A will finish at 1-2 no matter what, Australia cannot be the worst third-placed team of all groups and are certain of their spot among the elite eight
- USA finally looked like a loaded team that they are; Damian Lillard knocked down seven triples to help them to a 120-66 win over Iran
- Germany outmuscled Nigeria to pick up a 99-92 win and stay in the hunt for the Quarter-Finals; Nigeria dropped to 0-2 and need a minor miracle to advance
