    WABC Level 1 coaching courses organized in Malaysia

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia in coordination with MABA organized a World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia in coordination with Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA) organized a World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    The course was conducted by WABC instructor Safa Kamalian who saw 15 participants attend the course.

    The participants were all engaged and ended the workshop with positive reactions.

    Chong Su Chung, from Sabah, said: “It was a very well-organized and facilitated program with concise information and detailed teaching. I was able to reflect on how I had been coaching, and gained expert insight thru interactions and evaluation of the program.”

    Ho Chee Vun, from Selangor, added: “Great coaching course. I received a lot of new knowledge about coaching in basketball especially on how to handle players physically and psychologically in practice and also in-game. It also let me know my coaching style and how I should take advantage of this coaching style.”

    Nelson Wong Hon Mun, from KLBA, said: “I found this course very interesting and detailed. It was a great experience where we were given lots of details about the game. This course has definitely been a challenge which has been a fun experience for me. It helps me understand more about myself in my coaching style.”

    Gai Kim Eng, from Penang, said: “Great experience and very good coaching course that I have attended so far. I learned a lot of basketball knowledge and details. I hope to have more WABC coaching courses and clinics conducted by FIBA international instructors in the future. Good job!”

    Thoh Chai Ling, from Johore, also said: “In this course, we have gained an in-depth understanding of the drills, skills, and knowledge of the different drills. We got to know about our own technique coaching style. This is truly a special course. I am very fortunate to be in this program. Thank you all!”

    Additionally, Low Chee Mei, said: “This WABC clinic really refreshed my mind of coaching. Detailed information and valuable feedback was gained. Appreciated to all.”

    These courses are part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the National Federations, including the coaches, who are an integral part of basketball games.
