Update on FIBA Europe club competitions (March 12)
MUNICH (Germany) - The recent developments related to the COVID-19 virus and subsequent decisions by relevant authorities in Europe have impacted a number of FIBA Europe club competitions.
MUNICH (Germany) - The recent developments related to the COVID-19 virus and subsequent decisions by relevant authorities in Europe have resulted in a suspension of all competitions.
Considering the current situation and in order to protect the health and safety of players, coaches, officials and fans, FIBA has announced that all competitions are suspended as of Friday, March 13.
In addition, the first leg of the tie between Castors Braine and Valencia Basket Club SAD, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 12, is also cancelled.
FIBA and FIBA Europe will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and will evaluate the options for the continuation or not of the respective competitions when and if the situation allows for it.

EuroLeague Women
- Competition suspended as of Friday, March 13.
EuroCup Women
- The first leg of the tie between Castors Braine and Valencia Basket Club SAD, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 12 is cancelled.
- Competition suspended as of Friday, March 13.
FIBA Europe Cup
- Competition suspended as of Friday, March 13.

EuroLeague Women
- The first leg of the Quarter-Final tie between ZVVZ USK Praha and Famila Schio scheduled for today, March 11, 19:00 GMT+1 is cancelled. FIBA Europe has received today a letter from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic with the decision to ban the game from taking place. A decision regarding the game will be taken at a later stage.

EuroLeague Women
- The first leg of the tie between UMMC Ekaterinburg and BLMA has been cancelled, as the French club did not travel to Russia. As per competition regulations, the case will now be referred to the Single Judge.
- The first leg of the tie between Fenerbahce Oznur Kablo and Bourges Basket is to proceed as normal; the second leg next week in Bourges will be played behind closed doors.
- The first leg of the tie between ZVVZ USK Praha and Famila Schio is expected to be played behind closed doors.
- The first leg of the tie between LDLC ASVEL Feminin and Nadezhda will take place as normal, with a restricted capacity of up to 1,000 spectators.
EuroCup Women
- The first leg of the tie between Dynamo Kursk and Perfumerias Avenida has been cancelled, as the Spanish club did not travel to Russia. As per competition regulations, the case will now be referred to the Single Judge.
- The first leg of the tie between Reyer Venezia and Spar Citylift Girona has been cancelled by FIBA Europe due to restrictions imposed by local authorities in Italy. The decision on the game will be made at a later stage.
- The first leg of the tie between Carolo Basket and Basket Landes will be played with a restricted capacity of up to 1,000 spectators; the second leg on Friday in Mont de Marsan will be played with a restricted capacity of up to 1,000 spectators or behind closed doors.
- The first leg of the tie between Castors Braine and Valencia Basket Club SAD will be played with a restricted capacity of up to 1,000 spectators.
FIBA Europe Cup
- The second leg of the tie between medi Bayreuth and U-BT Cluj-Napoca will be played behind closed doors.
- All other games are to proceed as normal.
FIBA
