    Two-day FIBA Africa Congress set for Maputo

    The event will run from Friday, June 9 until Saturday June 10 with a number of activities scheduled to mark the 18th edition of FIBA Africa Congress.

    MAPUTO - It's all set for the two-day 2023 FIBA Africa Congress in the Mozambican capital city of Maputo.

    The event will run from Friday, June 9 until Saturday June 10 with a number of activities scheduled to mark the 18th edition of FIBA Africa Congress. 

    Among guests and participants for the quadrennial event will be FIBA President Hamane Niang and Secretary General Andreas Zagklis.

    One of the highlights of the Assembly will be the  elections for FIBA Africa's 2023-2027 term.

    Up for elections are the following positions: FIBA Africa president, General Treasurer, President of Technical Council and Competitions and the Presidents of Africa's seven Sub-zones.

    Once the voting is finished, a specific committee will validate the next FIBA Africa Board.

    Besides key decisions, workshops and meetings are expected throughout the two-day event. 

    The last FIBA Africa Congress, which elected the current FIBA Africa Board, took place in 2019 in Bamako, Mali.
