Players to watch at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Shanghai 2024
SHANGHAI (China) - The FIBA 3x3 World Tour returns to a glitzy destination as some of the best players on the planet prepare to entertain at the Shanghai Masters on September 21-22.
Here are the players you just have to watch.
Dejan Majstorovic (Ub Huishan NE)
You just know after Serbia's disappointment at the Paris Olympics that the 'Maestro' would be out for revenge like John Wick.
And as expected, Majstorovic was a key part in Ub's bounce back and Masters title in Debrecen. He hit big buckets during the title run to add another dub to a career that is filled with Ws.
He's won almost everywhere during his legendary career, but this will be the first time Majstorovic steps on the half-court in Shanghai. The 'Maestro' will be extra hungry and that spells trouble for opponents.

Nico Kaltenbrunner (Vienna)
Which player has gone up a level? There are a few to count, but this dude has absolutely risen to a legit superstar.
The 24-year-old has been on a prolonged heater and should feel like he absolutely belongs in the same tier as 'Doctor Strange' and 'Hype Worthy'.
He's been one of the hottest players all season after collecting MVPs at the Almaty Masters and Europe Cup.
Kaltenbrunner has been playing inspired in the afterglow of becoming a father. But he'll know that to challenge for the belt he'll need consistency - the ability to perform at every event.
After a slip up in Debrecen, where Vienna were knocked out in the quarters, Kaltenbrunner will be out to get his team another dub and if he does that then he will really have a case to be the best player in the game.

Franck Seguela (Paris)
Frenchman Franck steps back on the World Tour for the first time since his heroics in Lausanne, where he walked off with the MVP to cap a surreal period highlighted by capturing an Olympic silver medal.
Those heady heights are impossible to replicate and things have been a bit tougher ever since. But Seguela is again ready to sizzle as he looks to attack the business end of the season just like he sizes up opponents on the way to the rim.

Dennis Donkor (Riffa)
Even during Riffa's early season struggles, Double D was flat out ballin' and playing with his trademark passion. He's currently No.1 in player value on the World Tour to underline that he's in the form of his life.
Donkor has lifted his teammates, who have responded to his relentless enthusiasm as Riffa have gone on a recent run. Dennis was certainly a Menace in Riffa's semi-final campaign in Debrecen, but he's only just getting warmed up as he eyes a Masters triumph in Shanghai.

Westher Molteni (Lausanne)
Those lucky enough to have been in Chengdu mid-year saw one of the finest moments in this Swiss Maestro's glittering career. 'King Wes' wore the crown with a tour de force to almost will Lausanne to their first-ever Masters title.
It capped a stretch where Molteni was arguably the best big man on the pro circuit as he flat out dominated the paint.
Things have been a bit tougher recently, including a let down at home in Lausanne, but 'King Wes' is ready to become royalty once again in a country he just loves travelling to.

Stefan Kojic (Liman)
This legendary Liman star has been lights out all season on the pro circuit to lift his powerhouse team to a number of titles.
Liman haven't had the same success on the World Tour, but that's no fault of Kojic who has been a bucket getting machine with a scoring average of 7.2 - only Worthy de Jong has a higher mark for those who have played more than 10 games.
You just know Chef Kojic is ready to cook in Shanghai.

Dulguun Enkhbat (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy)
This Mongolian Man with that famous perfect hair will be pumped up returning to Shanghai, where he lit up the half-court in Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy's (MGL) historic triumph last year.
Enkhbat was on a mission and finished with the second highest player value to realize a long-time goal of Masters success. But he's not nearly satisfied 12 months on and will be determined to help Ulaanbaatar defend their title.
You just know he will leave blood, sweat and tears on the half-court.

Henry Caruso (Princeton)
What's that noise you'll hear in Shanghai? It will be the vibration of the rims rattling when Henry Caruso has performed yet another thundering slam.
The American is one of the most electric players on the planet and already has a pro circuit MVP under his belt.
He's out for the top prize in Shanghai in a bid to put his stamp on this new-look Princeton team which plays with flair to mirror their exciting young talent.

Karlis Lasmanis/Nauris Miezis (Chongming)
They might be wearing different colors, but it's the same devastating result for 3x3's most famous duo.
'Batman' and 'Robin' are ready to put their capes on as they lead dangerous Chongming (CHN), who loom as a major threat in the business end of the season.
Lasmanis and Miezis know each other so well that they can basically read each other's minds. Just watch their chemistry, it's a thing of beauty.
