PARIS (France) - NBA superstars LeBron James and Kevin Durant were among a host of big names to attend a dramatic day three of 3x3 competition at the Paris Olympics.

Taking a break from Team USA's quest for a fifth straight men's basketball gold medal, James sat courtside in the night session and his presence might just have inspired USA's women to break their drought with victory over Spain. 

'King James', sitting alongside wife Savannah and daughter Zhuri, celebrated wildly when Hailey Van Lith showed off her sublime skills. He was on his feet by the end of the game to cheer off his compatriots who might have ignited their gold medal defense. 

Giddy fans at the venue were eager to take pics of James, adding to the febrile atmosphere at La Concorde. 

Durant had earlier watched USA women's team fall to Australia in a thriller, with the two-time NBA champion emotionally invested in the contest.

He was similarly feted by an adoring packed crowd as Durant visibly took a liking to 3x3. 

White attended the late night men's thriller between USA and Latvia to complete an unforgettable day for 3x3.
