FIBA Youth EuroBasket and European Championship for Small Countries 2024 draws to be streamed live

MUNICH (Germany) - The draws for this summer's FIBA Youth EuroBasket and FIBA European Championship for Small Countries tournaments will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Freising, Germany.

A new identity for the youth competitions has been created in line with the flagship senior events after the Executive Committee approved the change of event names for continental youth events across all regions. The change sees the move from European Championship to EuroBasket with a unified logo for all youth events.

There are a total of 244 teams representing 47 different national federations registered across the 16 FIBA Youth EuroBasket tournaments, with three divisions at U18 and U16 level and two divisions for U20.

128 men's teams are set to enter this summer's youth events, while there are 116 women's teams taking part.

After last being held in 2022, the FIBA European Championships for Small Countries return this summer with four men's teams and seven women's teams competing in the corresponding events.

The draw ceremony will be streamed live on the FIBA YouTube channel on Tuesday with proceedings commencing at 11:00 CET.

Teams for the youth competitions have been seeded based on the three-year average of results from the same event, while the European Championship for Small Countries seedings are in accordance with the FIBA World Rankings.

The Small Countries tournaments will start the summer's action from June 25-30 in Andorra la Vella, Andorra, and Prishtina, Kosovo, respectively, before the newly named youth events commence with the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket from July 6-14.
