FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 Draw completed in Sopron

MIES (Switzerland) - The highly-anticipated Draw for the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 took place in Sopron, Hungary on Thursday October 5.

It means that the Road to Paris 2024 has now been defined for every nation still chasing the 10 available Olympic tickets via the Qualifying Tournaments. Only France and USA are guaranteed their spots as Olympic hosts and the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 champions respectively - although both will still play in the Qualifying Tournaments.

The FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 game schedule will be announced at a later stage.

The Road to Paris 2024 heads to the cities of Antwerp, Belgium; Belem, Brazil; Sopron, Hungary; and a city to be confirmed in China, with games taking place February 8 to 11 next year.

However before this, Canada, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Venezuela must first play at the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in November 2023, with the two highest-placed teams advancing.

FIBA Central Board Member Asterios Zois provided opening remarks at the ceremony, with Serbian legend Jelena Brooks and former Hungarian national team leader Lenke Kiss both performing the Draw.
