FIBA was informed by Basketball Australia (BA) of its decision not to travel to Iran to participate in the game Iran-Australia of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers scheduled on Monday 14 November. The game will be forfeited in favour of Iran. FIBA will investigate the matter for potential further measures.

The remaining games of the fifth Window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers will take place as planned.
