FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 Draw Completed at FIBA HQ

MIES (Switzerland) - The eagerly awaited Draw for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 took place at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland, on Monday, November 27.

Each of the 24 countries that are still in contention to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games - 19 that clinched places with their performances at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 and the five winners of the FIBA Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournaments this past summer - now have a clear vision for the path that leads to the Olympic basketball tournament next year.

The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 game schedule will be announced at a later stage.

There are four tickets available for the 2024 Olympic Games for each of the four FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament winners.

Seven countries have already qualified directly for the 2024 Olympic Games at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023: Germany and Serbia for Europe, Canada and USA for Americas, Australia for Oceania, Japan for Asia and South Sudan for Africa. France also qualified as hosts.

The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 are to be hosted in the cities of Piraeus (Greece), Riga (Latvia), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Valencia (Spain), which was announced during today's FIBA Executive Committee meeting. Games will be played from July 2 to 7. 

Great Britain national team legend, two-time NBA All-Star and current President of the South Sudan Basketball Federation, Luol Deng, performed the draw. FIBA President Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis, the FIBA Executive Committee and various National Federation representatives were also in attendance.
