FIBA Asia mourns passing of former Nepal Basketball Association President Lama Tendi Sherpa
KATMANDU (Nepal) - FIBA Asia is mourning the death of Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa, the former president of the Nepal Basketball Association, at the age of 50.
Mr. Sherpa served as the vice president of the National Sports Council and general secretary of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC), member of SABA Coordination Council, and as the president of the Nepal Basketball Association.
During his tenure as president of the Nepal Basketball Association, he played a vital role in developing basketball in his country, changing the face of the association by opening the door for players to compete in international games. His tireless work serves as a shining example to all those in the basketball community in Nepal.
His contributions that enriched the experiences of the different sports communities he was involved in were invaluable.
