Asia Regional Office conducts first ever statisticians workshop in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT (Uzbekistan) - The FIBA Regional Office – Asia held a two-day statisticians workshop on October 6 and 7 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The event was the first-ever statisticians workshop held in Uzbekistan, making this the first time that the Central Asian country will have FIBA licensed statisticians. A total of 21 participants attended the workshop and will be an important part of the development of basketball in Uzbekistan moving forward.

Ravshan Ganiev, Secretary General of the Uzbekistan Basketball Federation (UBF), addressed the participants of the workshop about the importance of the workshop with Secretary General of National Olympic committee, Kasymov Oybek Omilovich, and the vice president of National Olympic committee, Irmatov Ravshan Sayfiddinovich, also in attendance.

"I'm very happy to welcome you all to this first-ever statisticians workshop in Uzbekistan. I would like to express my gratitude to the FIBA Regional Office - Asia for accepting our request to organize such a workshop for our statisticians. I also want to thank the National Olympic Committee for it's support for basketball and assistance in making sure this success of this workshop" said Ganiev,

"It has been an interesting and exciting two-days seminar. I am sure that everyone got valuable experience and a lot of knowledge," added Ganiev.
