PUR - Natives win BSN All-Star Game

PONCE (Baloncesto Superior Nacional) - The Natives beat the Imports 109-95 in Sunday's BSN All-Star Game in Guaynabo.

Larry Ayuso netted 19 points and Carmelo Antrone Lee added 18 for the winners. The shooting accuracy from three-point range was the difference in the game as the Natives hit 14 long bombs against just six for the Imports.

Lee was named the game's MVP as he also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists to go along with his 18 points.

Australian forward Shawn Redhage had a game-high 20 points for the Imports while Leroy Hickerson finished with 16 and Shaun Pruitt chipped in with 14.

In the weekend's other events, James Maye of Indios de Mayagüez won the Three-point Shooting Contest while Hickerson, of Atleticos de San German, took the honours in the Dunk Contest.

As the regular season resumes, Vaqueros de Bayamon guard Christian Dalmau is the favourite to win the league's MVP as he leads all players in points (20.9) and assists (6.2). Shaun Pruitt of Isabela is the best rebounder with 14.2 boards per contest while Dalmau's team-mate Robert Traylor tops the blocks charts with an average of 3.4 swats.

The league starts up again on Wednesday as Bayamon play Santurce in Caguas and Humacao travel to San Germán.
