XXII FIBA Congress 2023 ready to take place August 23-24 in Manila, Philippines
MANILA (Philippines) - Prior to the curtain being raised at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 on Friday, August 25, FIBA's National Federation members will assemble in Manila for the XXII FIBA Congress.
Taking place across two days, August 23 and 24, in the Philippines capital, FIBA's Central Board will also meet for the last time during the 2019-2023 term on August 22 to reflect on the challenges faced and achievements attained.
A new FIBA President will be elected to serve for the upcoming term, 2023-2027.
More than 160 National Federations from around the globe should attend the Congress and as well as the new FIBA President, the Congress will include an election of the Treasurer and also the Central Board for a new four-year mandate.
The plenary session will also include the FIBA Awards Ceremony, recognizing FIBA's National Member Federations for their success and excellent work.

FIBA's Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony for 2023 will take place on the evening of Wednesday, August 23, in Manila. This year's ceremony comes with an exciting twist, as the doors of the ceremony will be open to the public for the very first time since its establishment. Breakout Sessions for the 300+ delegates will take place on Thursday, August 24. Besides the sessions on FIBA's strategic priorities - Women in Basketball and Empower National Federations, other topics will include FIBA's Equipment & Venue Centre, FIBA's newest competition eFIBA, as well as Safeguarding and Integrity.
The XXII FIBA Congress activities conclude with the National Federation delegates attending the highly anticipated FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 tip-off on Friday, August 25, at the Philippine Arena.
