Week 9 Top Performers: Vital, Smith, Bouteille, Terry, Boutsiele
MUNICH (Germany) – The Second Round of FIBA Europe Cup action returned in style on Wednesday with a plethora of individual performances.
Now with Gameday 3 confined to the history books, here are the top five standouts. Who gets your vote as the best of the best?
Entering 2024, Legia Warszawa's Christian Vital was the top marksman, and he showed why in their 93-84 success over Sporting CP. Vital poured in 31 points, including five three-pointers in that haul along with 6 rebounds for an efficiency rating of 32 – the joint highest mark.
Axel Bouteille is one of two Bahcesehir College players to feature in this week's Top Performers as he impressed with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for an efficiency rating of 27 to lead the Turkish team to a 91-67 road victory over Jonava CBet.
Teammate Jerry Boutsiele joins him in the lineup this week after posting a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double in Lithuania. Boutsiele managed a rating of 28, which also included 2 blocks.
Manisa BBSK's Emanuel Terry amassed a rating of 32 as he secured a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds along with 3 steals. However, he wasn't able to help his side get a win against Casademont Zaragoza in a narrow 68-65 defeat.
Adam Smith was a major factor in Surne Bilbao Basket making it nine straight wins in the FIBA Europe Cup this season. He had four triples in his 25 points along with 3 assists for a rating of 23 in the Spanish side's 94-62 win away to Balkan Botevgrad.
