    Hanlan earns FIBA Europe Cup MVP honor for November

    MUNICH (Germany) - Olivier Hanlan has become the second Itelyum Varese player this season to claim FIBA Europe Cup honours after earning the November MVP award.

    MUNICH (Germany) - Olivier Hanlan has become the second Itelyum Varese player this season to claim FIBA Europe Cup honours after earning the November MVP award.

    The 30-year-old averaged 21.0 points, 7.7 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game throughout the month to help guide the Italian side through to the Second Round.

    Hanlan exploded for 29 points and 10 assists in a 109-104 overtime win against BG Gottingen, for an efficiency of 42 - the highest rating so far in the 2023-24 season.


    The Canadian had earlier went 3-of-5 from three-point range, going for 12 points in the Italian side's 109-83 win over BC TSU Tbilisi before hitting five triples for 22 points in a 94-81 road success over the same opponents on Gameday 6.

    Hanlan fought off some other strong performances during November to take the award and now has averages of 15.6 points and 9.0 assists to take into the next phase of the competition.

    It's actually the second time Hanlan has secured the monthly award in 2023 having been the January MVP in FIBA Europe Cup action for Gaziantep last season.
