Oradea overcome Sporting to secure Group K top spot as Second Round concludes

MUNICH (Germany) - CSM CSU Oradea ended the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round action in style as they sealed top spot in Group K with a third successive victory.

The Romanian side were already assured of their place in the last eight alongside Sporting CP, but prevailed in the shootout for first place by winning 72-55.

 

Oradea pulled clear in the fourth quarter with a 21-4 run as Stephen Holt top-scored with a game-high 21 points. Their win ensures home advantage in the two-legged Quarter-Finals as they now take on Bahcesehir College.

As for Sporting, their run of three straight wins came to an end to finish 4-2 in the Second Round and will now go up against Group L winners Avtodor Saratov in their last eight tie.
