Avtodor, Parma make it a Russian double on the road to near last eight

MUNICH (Germany) - Avtodor Saratov and Parma-Parimatch recorded contrasting victories on the road to edge closer to the Quarter-Finals in FIBA Europe Cup action on Tuesday evening.

It was a fourth win from four in Group L for Avtodor as they swept past London Lions for a dominant 104-77 success in the British capital. Five players hit double figures in scoring with DJ Funderburk netting a team-high 21 points off the bench.

The Russian side took control early by pouring in 30 points in the opening 10 minutes and had established a 21-point lead by half-time and the damage was done. Marquis Teague had 28 in vain for London, who dropped to 0-5 in the Second Round.

Meanwhile, Parma moved to 3-1 in a share of the lead in Group I after overcoming medi Bayreuth for a hard-fought 91-85 victory. Eigirdas Zukauskas top scored with 21 points for the visitors with Valerii Likhodei adding 19 points on competition debut this season.

Sacar Anim led the home side with 21 points as the German side play for pride after their hopes of progressing were ended last week. Parma used a 29-20 second period to move ahead and after leading by 11 in the fourth, they held off a late fightback to pick up an important win.

Gameday 5 continues on Wednesday with four more games taking place including Bahcesehir College with a chance to lock up their spot in the Quarter-Finals.
