Change of venue approved for FIBA Europe Cup Final Four

MUNICH (Germany) - The legendary Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel will serve as the stage for the April 23-25 FIBA Europe Cup Final Four after the venue change was approved by FIBA Europe on Tuesday.

Ironi Ness Ziona were awarded the right to host the competition's season-ending tournament in Tel Aviv last week, with the games initially supposed to take place at the Shlomo Group Arena.

Following consultations with the host club and the National Federation of Israel, the Menora Mivtachim Arena was approved as the new venue for the Final Four in order to potentially allow a higher spectator attendance.

Having been the backdrop for many famous European club competition battles, the multi-purpose arena in southern Tel Aviv also welcomed the continent's top stars when Israel hosted the Group Phase of FIBA EuroBasket 2017.

The FIBA Europe Cup Final Four will feature Arged BMSLAM Stal (POL), BC Parma (RUS), CSM CSU Oradea (ROU) and Ironi Ness Ziona (ISR).

Qualification to the season-ending tournament already marks new ground for all four participating clubs, with one of them set to make history with a maiden European club competition title.

In Friday's Semi-Finals, hosts Ironi Ness Ziona will take on BC Parma, while CSM CSU Oradea and Arged BMSLAM Stal find themselves matched up on the other side of the bracket.

The Final and the Third Place Game will be played on Sunday.
