
FIBA Europe Cup Round of 16 pairings drawn
MUNICH (Germany) - The pairings for the FIBA Europe Cup Round of 16 were drawn in the FIBA Europe offices in Munich on Thursday.
Eight teams qualified directly as the first and second-placed teams from the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round groups, with a further four teams joining from the Basketball Champions League Regular Season.
The remaining four spots were filled by the third-placed teams from the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round. The draw was made with the only restriction that these lucky losers could not be paired against each other.
The Round of 16 pairings are as follows, with the teams listed first enjoying home-court advantage in the second leg:
Donar Groningen (NED) v Filou Oostende (BEL)
Pinar Karsiyaka (TUR) v Ventspils (LAT)
Alba Fehervar (HUN) v Telekom Baskets Bonn (GER)
Ironi Ness Ziona (ISR) v Bakken Bears (DEN)
s.Oliver Wurzburg (GER) v Avtodor Saratov (RUS)
Balkan BC (BUL) v UNET Holon (ISR)
Dinamo Sassari (ITA) v ZZ Leiden (NED)
Pallacanestro Varese (ITA) v Z Mobile Prishtina (KOS)
The Round of 16 will be played in a home-and-away format, with the two legs scheduled for March 6 and 13.
The Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals will follow the same home-and-away format, with all pairings predetermined. For the full brackets, please click here.
