WURZBURG (Germany) - Dinamo Sassari were crowned first-time FIBA Europe Cup champions on Wednesday after completing the double over s.Oliver Wurzburg in the two-leg Final.

The Sardinian club followed up their first-leg success with an 81-79 victory in Germany to win 170-163 on aggregate and claim their first European title in club history.

Sassari are the second Italian team to lift the FIBA Europe Cup trophy, following in the footsteps of last year's champions Umana Reyer Venezia.

Backed by a 3,140-strong capacity crowd, Wurzburg got off to the better start, as they erased the five-point deficit from the first leg within the opening minutes and extended the lead to 11 points at 57-46 midway through the third quarter. Playing without the injured Jordan Hulls and Johannes Richter, the hosts ran out of steam, as Sassari's talent came through when it mattered most.

The winners were carried on both ends of the floor by Dyshawn Pierre, who led the way with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Jaime Smith and Rashawn Thomas chipped in with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Wurzburg were paced by Skyler Bowlin's 20 points and Cameron Wells' 18-point, 10-assist double-double.
