Germany star Buhner bags Division B MVP honors

CRAIOVA (Romania) - Frieda Buhner did everything she could to propel Germany to FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2023 title success and while her team just fell short, she was deservedly crowned MVP. 

Germany were shut down 57-47 by Slovenia in the title game but Buhner was recognized for her impressive efforts throughout the competition. She registered an average performance efficiency valuation of 19.2 having harvested 14.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. 

While it was a productive team effort throughout by Slovenia, it was Hana Sambolic who undeniably led the winning side. She lit it up with 13.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 dimes per outing across the tournament.

She was joined in the All-Star Five lineup by Blaza Ceh whose mature and composed contributions were a cornerstone of her team's success. The guard finished with 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Lotte van Kruistum was a driving force in Netherlands making it onto the podium as they took Third Place in the competition. She starred for the Dutch side with an average performance efficiency valuation of 18.8 after accumulating 15.8 points, 9.5 boards and 3.0 assists. 

Meanwhile, Viktoria Ranisavljevic did her best to provide the standout displays needed for Switzerland to take their first ever medal, but they just fell short in settling for fourth place. The guard averaged 13.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.2 steals per outing.
