VOIRON (FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship 2016) - Arnaud Guppillotte has been tasked with carrying France to an astonishing sixth consecutive Final appearance at the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship.
It could be a tall order for the head coach to continue his team’s recent medal haul, with 16 players initially selected for potential inclusion as part of a preparation camp in Voiron.

Regrettably for France, their last five Final appearances have only returned one chunk of gold – back during 2012 in Bucharest, when they were carried to the title by the likes of current senior team members Olivia Epoupa and Valeriane Ayayi.
Nevertheless, it is still an impressive accomplishment for France to have been so consistent in their performances, with Guppillotte himself having taken France to the Final of last year’s FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship.
On paper, it looks like the returning strength under the basket of Gassa Djaldi-Tabdi, Marie Foppossi and Ana Tadic will be vital as France brace themselves to face Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia in Group D.
Before heading to Gyor, they will play Israel, Croatia and Czech Republic in a friendly tournament between 10-12 June.
