Miskovic picks up MVP honors to head All-Star Five

BRATISLAVA (FIBA U18 European Championship 2017) - After guiding Serbia to a gold-medal finish at the FIBA U18 European Championship 2017 with stellar individual contributions, Nikola Miskovic picked up the Most Valuable Player award at the Hant Arena in Bratislava to headline the tournament’s All-Star Five.

After a quiet start to the tournament in Piestany, the versatile power forward found his groove for the Play-Offs after transferring to the Hant Arena in Bratislava, leading Serbia's charge to gold in the Slovak Republic capital.

Miskovic was instrumental in the gold-medal game with a game-high 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, as Serbia defeated Spain 74-62 after an excellent second-half performance.

The player averaged 12.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game, but it was his clutch performances in the Play-Offs that earned him the MVP award.

Having finished runners-up, Spain were represented in the All-Star Five by Sergi Martinez who scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for his team, but couldn't get them over the edge.

Arnas Velicka of bronze medalists Lithuania and fourth-placed Turkey standout Ragip Berke Atar were also recognized with individual honors, with tournament top-scorer Sani Campara of Bosnia and Herzegovina rounding out the list of the best FIBA U18 European Championship 2017 players.
