IZMIR (Turkey) - There will be 16 teams battling it out to be crowned winners of the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship in Izmir, Turkey from August 11-19.

France were the team on top of the podium in 2022 after they beat Spain in the Final in an overtime thriller, as Iyana Martin took home MVP honors for the runners-up.

Spain are the only team to reach double figures in number of titles (10) and they also have the most medals in the history of the competition with 16. However, they haven't lifted the trophy since 2016.
