Rosters finalized in Izmir for FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023
IZMIR (Turkey) - The action is set to get underway at the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023 after the final 12-player rosters were confirmed on Thursday.
IZMIR (Turkey) - The action is set to get underway at the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023 after the final 12-player rosters were confirmed on Thursday.
There will be 16 teams competing for the title Izmir, Turkey from August 11-19 as the tournament brings the summer of Youth European Championships to a close.

Group A: Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia, Portugal
Group B: France, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey
Group C: Croatia, Israel, Italy, Poland
Group D: Belgium, Greece, Slovenia, Spain
France are the reigning champions after winning in 2022 by defeating Spain in the Final in Matosinhos, Portugal, while Croatia secured the final spot on the podium.
Teams have been split into four groups of four for the Group Phase action which takes place across the first three days of the tournament. The Round of 16 and Quarter-Finals stages are held on Tuesday and Wednesday, in between the two rest days.
The Semi-Finals take place on Friday before the competition reaches its conclusion on Saturday, August 19.
Additionally, the top five teams will secure their places at the FIBA U17 Women's World Cup 2024 that is scheduled to be held in Mexico.
Elsewhere, in Podgorica, Montenegro, the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023, Division B tournament got underway on Thursday as 20 teams battle for promotion.
