    Bessoir to lead Germany into European Youth Olympic Festival

    HAGEN (FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship 2017) – Having helped Germany to a historic silver medal last year at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship, Emily Bessoir is set to be a kingpin again.

    Posting a series of impressive displays in Udine last summer, the frontcourt star is set to take on an even more prominent role this time around, when the action gets underway in Bourges next month.

    She will also lead her nation in next week's vital preparatory tournament, in the shape of the European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor, with games scheduled against hosts Hungary, Lithuania and Czech Republic.

    Bessoir isn't the only returnee from the class of 2016 who made such an impressive impact, with Julia Forner, Nina Rosemeyer and Elea Gaba also back on board.

    Germany will play in Group B against Croatia, Czech Republic and Netherlands.
