    Andorra re-claim title with dominant fourth quarter, Armenia's Moghoyan named MVP

    PRIZREN (Kosovo) - Andorra were crowned FIBA U16 European Championship, Division C champions for a fourth time after they defeated Armenia 84-65 in Sunday's Final.

    PRIZREN (Kosovo) - Andorra were crowned FIBA U16 European Championship, Division C champions for a fourth time after they defeated Armenia 84-65 in Sunday's Final.

    The two teams were tied at 52-52 heading into the fourth quarter, but Andorra stormed clear with 19 unanswered points on their way to re-claiming the title they last won in 2018 having been runners-up in the previous edition, three years ago.

    Gregory Moghoyan earned tournament MVP honors, despite Armenia being unable to repeat their 2017 triumph. The 16-year-old averaged 21.2. points and 5.4 assists per game and was joined in the All-Star Five by teammate Gregory Gazarian.who posted 20.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.

    Andorra's Joan Aguilar Ornosa also earned a spot on the team having averaged a tournament double-double with 17 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists and 3 steals in the Final victory, while Viktorio Hida and Andrei Voitenco completed the lineup.

    Earlier, Albania claimed a 68-53 success over Kosovo to deny the hosts a spot on the podium as they took bronze for their first-ever medal in the competition's history. Hida starred in the win with a dominant double-double of 21 points and 20 rebounds to propel Albania to 3rd place.

    Moldova overcame Malta in the 5-6 Classification Game with a 67-61 victory as Voitenco posted 22 points, 26 rebounds and 5 assists, while San Marino finished in 7th place after beating Gibraltar 54-29 to start the final day's action.
