    Sochan takes home MVP trophy after carrying Poland to Division B title

    PODGORICA  (Montenegro) - Jeremy Sochan claimed the Most Valuable Player award of the FIBA U16 European Championship 2019, Division B after carrying Poland to the title and promotion back to Division A.

    PODGORICA  (Montenegro) - Jeremy Sochan claimed the Most Valuable Player award of the FIBA U16 European Championship 2019, Division B after carrying Poland to the title and promotion back to Division A.

    Sochan tallied 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks as Poland won the Final over Netherlands 71-58. The guard averaged 16.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.1 steals, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in the tournament. Sochan was joined on the All-Star Five by Armin Strojil of Netherlands, Noah Sorensen of Denmark, Montenegro's Stefan Vukcevic and Thijs De Ridder of Belgium. 

    Stromjil collected 23 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds in the Final while averaging 12.0 points, 4.9 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals for the competition.

    Sorensen guided Denmark to third place and promotion to Division A as he averaged 17.8 points, a tournament-best 8.0 assists, 6. 4 rebounds and 3.0 steals; Vukcevic averaged 11.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks for Montenegro, who lost in the Third Place Game; De Ridder was third in scoring with 19.3 points per game while also chipping in 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks.
